“Not finance. Not strategy. Not technology. It is teamwork that remains the ultimate competitive advantage, both because it is so powerful and so rare.” ~ Patrick Lencioni
Creating and sustaining high-performing and high-value-creating team is never by accident. Such team’s characteristics often include:
- Trust in the team members’ capabilities and delivery
- Executive sponsorship and supportive team leader
- Common understanding of the team’s goals and measures
- Clearly defined roles and responsibilities
- High energy, dedication, and effective relationships with all stakeholders
Our approach to team coaching begins with gaining an objective understanding of each team member’s roles and responsibilities, the existing working dynamics, and the results expected of the team. In other words, we will start by baselining with a TRUST Index assessment of current team performance through interviews and meetings. Each team member including the leader is required to take the assessment which takes only 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
Studies show that 9 out of 10 conversations miss the mark.
Transparency with open, clear, timely, and effective communication is required to build strong trust that bonds the team and set the stage for high team performance yielding higher value. The TRUST Index fleshes out the perceptions and believes each team member holds towards the team. In the meantime, we will gain an understanding of the team’s performance measures and the expected results.
Armed with the assessment results, we will develop an improvement recommendation including a roadmap with milestones to track progress. As part of the roadmap tasks, we then proceed to meet with the team individually and as a group to further analyze the symptoms and root causes.
Though every team is different, high-performing teams can positively impact a company’s bottom line. As team dynamics changes over time with new business events and activities, arming each and every team leader and team member with the techniques and understanding of how our neurochemicals work when we communicate will definitely benefit the organization for the long haul. Above all that, the team leaders and members gain the knowledge and techniques acquired that will also benefit their personal lives for the years to come.

“Working with Pearl was a great learning experience for me. She is extremely well versed in business intelligence and is one of the best technologists I have known.
Pearl was committed to provide the very best possible solution for her client and was tirelessly searching for more answers and better options for our project’s recommendation.
I recommend Pearl with the highest confidence that she will excel.”
“Pearl’s insight, experience and finely honed communication skills immediately instilled tremendous confidence in me. She helped me discover the root causes of my work challenges. My communications skills improved through and my talents got to evolve and shine in what used to be tough situations for me. Her total understanding of team dynamics and marksman like ability to target areas where growth was needed, and her ability to address those areas in a secure and non-judgmental fashion helped me trust her and quickly realize what an asset she has been for me. She also assisted me with industry specific challenges. I would recommend her for any team or individual at any level.”
“I’ve worked with Pearl off and on for years in a variety of client environments. I always learn something new from her and would heartily recommend her to anyone who needs a driven, outcome oriented, change drive. While these are buzz words for most consultants, Pearl can and does actually measure her success by the improvements left in place with her clients, her peers, and her teams. She gets things done, by herself, or by causing strong, measurable, positive change in the teams she leaves behind.
While Pearl could be a strong force for improvement in any aspect of consulting, we are particularly lucky to have her working in the Analytics and Information Governance areas. She IS actually improving the world (and teaching those around her how to do it as well).”
